The Tata Punch is the compact SUV in Tata Passenger Vehicles' South African range, positioned above the Tiago for buyers who want more luggage space, a higher body and additional ground clearance without moving to the larger Curvv. All five local derivatives use a 1,199 cc naturally aspirated three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine producing 65 kW at 6,000 rpm and 115 Nm at 3,250 rpm. Power reaches the front wheels through a five-speed manual or five-speed automated manual transmission. The engine is designed for everyday travel rather than fast performance, so buyers should test loaded acceleration and hill response. Accomplished+ AMT moves to a 10.25-inch wireless-connectivity screen, automatic climate control, rapid cabin cooling, cruise control, projector lighting, daytime running lamps and a cooled glovebox. Creative+ AMT is the flagship, adding wireless phone charging, 16-inch alloy wheels, power-folding mirrors, tyre-pressure information, a rear centre armrest and richer cabin details. The buyer should focus on the functional steps. The sunroof may be enjoyable, but connected navigation, climate control, camera equipment and transmission choice affect more journeys. Across the range, dual front airbags remain the listed restraint count; upper equipment does not imply a different crash-test outcome. Electronic aids and parking cameras support the driver but do not replace observation. The Punch's tall stance can improve entry and outward view, yet seat comfort, rear room and body roll should be judged in person.
