A Ranger is wide and long in town, so test the parking space, tailgate clearance and camera view at the owner's premises. The XL may make more sense for work; XLT and Wildtrak bring different convenience expectations. Inspect the load bed, tie-downs, spare wheel and exact sensor package on the vehicle being quoted. The Ranger should be driven through a normal weekday rather than judged from a quiet dealership loop. Check visibility, access, parking, climate control, storage and the exact safety equipment fitted to the quoted pickup. A short route should include the awkward turn, speed hump, ramp or loading point that normally exposes a vehicle's weak point. If it cannot be tested at the dealership, ask for a second drive or make the question part of the purchase record.
